  • Amy Anderson, DVM, Practice Owner

    Dr. Amy Anderson was born and raised in Eastern Pennsylvania.  She grew up riding, training, and showing dressage horses up and down the East Coast.  She received a Bachelor's degree in Animal Bioscience from The Pennsylvania State University and went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University.  While in veterinary school, she served as the president of the Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association.  Amy became an owner of the West Fargo Animal Hospital in the summer of 2008.  Amy is married to Anthony "Quinn" Anderson.  Dr. Anderson resides in West Fargo with her husband, 2 children (Piper and Paisley), a french bulldog, Wally, and a cat named Marvin.

  • Carrie Summerfield, DVM, Practice Owner

    Dr. Carrie Summerfield is from Minot, ND.  She received her BS in Biology from the University of North Dakota (Go Sioux!) and her DVM from the University of Minnesota.  She has practiced at the West Fargo Animal Hospital since 1997.  She became an owner in the summer of 2008.  Dr. Summerfield is married to Shawn Stewart and they have 2 children, Jack and Andie, a dog, Lulu, and a cat, Boo.  Dr. Summerfield used to spend her time away from the clinic camping, quilting, reading, and crafting, but now she mostly spends it enjoying/chasing her children and dog!

  • Kristen Anderson, DVM

    Dr. Kristen Anderson (no relation to Amy) grew up in Stillwater, Minnesota. She attended the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities (Go Gophers!) where she received her Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2005. She joined the staff of the West Fargo Animal Hospital in the spring of 2011.

    Dr. Kristen resides in the "lakes area" of Minnesota with her husband Matt, two young sons - Owen and Beckett. She also has two recent additions to the family - Golden Retriever, Rosie and German Shorthair puppy, Steve! In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, fishing, curling, downhill skiing, scrapbooking and reading.

  • Melissa Schlader, DVM

    Dr. Melissa Schlader is originally from central Iowa. She received her bachelor's degree at the University of Iowa and her DVM from Iowa State University. She has practiced in the Fargo-Moorhead area for 9 years. Dr. Schlader is married to Mark and has 3 children - Gannon, Zoey and Jack. Her furry family includes her cat, Frankie and new adopted dog, Ashley. She spends most of her spare time running around her kids, but also enjoys reading and traveling.

  • Beth, AS, LVT, CVDT

    Beth is a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT).  She grew up in Devils Lake, ND and attended the Medical Institute of Minnesota (now Argosy University) in the Twin Cities.  Beth moved to West Fargo in 2001 and worked at Airport Animal Hospital until she was transferred to West Fargo Animal Hospital in 2003.  Her animal family consists of her dog, Nicholas and her 3 cats - Sammy, Mr. Whiskers and Rei. Her special interests include working in the lab (especially cytology), dental cleanings, and dental radiographs.  In her spare time, Beth enjoys going to movies, spending time with friends and family, and hanging out by the lake or pool in the summer. Beth is also a Reiki practitioner and enjoys doing that on the side as well as within the clinic to help calm and facilitate healing in our patients.

  • Cassie, BS, LVT

    Cassie is originally from Streeter, ND.  She graduated in May 2010 with her Bachelors degree in Veterinary Technology and Zoology from NDSU.  She spends her time away from the clinic with her husband, Joel, and her 2 cats, Zoey and Xelda.  She enjoys hanging out with friends and family, rollerblading, reading, camping, hiking, and horseback riding.  In the future she plans on living on a small hobby farm and having as many animals as she can manage!  Her special interests include Radiography, Dentistry, Surgery, and Anesthesia.

    Chris graduated from NDSU with a degree in Veterinary Technology. Her special interests include radiology and client education. Away from the clinic she is a busy mom with 3 children: Holly, Ryder and Maddox. She also enjoys riding motorcycles with her husband, Joey. They spend their free time camping and boating at their lake home in Minnesota. Her animal family consists of two dogs, Missy & Cloee, and a turtle named Steve!

    Molly is originally from Valley City, ND. She moved to Fargo in 2012 and attended Globe University. She graduated in December 2015 with an Associates Degree of Science. Her hobbies include playing RPG video games and watching movies. Her furry family includes her Lionhead rabbit, Busby, rescue dog, Spencer and two kitties, Scarlett and Morty. She would eventually like to specialize in dentistry.

    Tatie is originally from Jamestown, ND.  She graduated from NDSU with her Bachelors in Veterinary Technology and two minors in Large Animal Veterinary Technology and Equine Science in May 2015.  She has a long haired Chihuahua, Shiloh and a cat, Akali.  In her free time she enjoys reading, playing games, embroidering, crocheting, knitting, and hanging with friends.

    Kendra was originally born in Colorado, moved to California for few years, then her family moved here to Fargo. She attended NDSU and graduated in 2016 with a degree in Veterinary Technology and a minor in Zoology. She adopted a sassy kitty named Versace and recently brought home a new, sweet kitten named Kirra. Kendra was recently engaged to her fiancĂ©, Blake and is looking forward to getting a puppy out of the deal! She enjoys reading, being outside, drawing and finding new ways to bring pets home (since she was a kid).

    Sheila originally grew up in Minot but now resides in Fargo. Animals have been in her life since she was knee high to a grass hopper and she has enjoyed learning new things about them everyday. She attended NDSU and graduated with a BS in Veterinary Technology in 2012. Sheila and her husband Cameron are big Packer fans and enjoy spending time at their lake cabin. They have a mini farm of their own including 2 cats, L.E. & Crosby, and 3 dogs, Woodson, Lambeau & Cowboy. She looks forward to meeting new clients as well as the clients that have been coming here for years!!

    Amber is originally from Hibbing, MN. She moved to Moorhead, MN in 2006 to attend Concordia College. She graduated in 2010 with a degree in Biology. Her fur family consists of her 4 dogs - Hadley, Paisley, Finley & Clementine and her 3 horses - Leo, Libby & Spanky. Her hobbies include horseback riding, teaching riding lessons, reading and hanging out with her friends.

    Abby was born and raised in Fargo, ND. She graduated from Fargo South High School in 2011 and is currently taking classes online through Minnesota State College to pursue a business degree. She enjoys spending time with her golden retriever, Elsie, and her two quarter horses, Kirby and Eden. She has been riding and showing horses for about 17 years. In her spare time she enjoys listening to music and spending time at Maud Lake with her friends and family.

  • Murdoch

    Murdoch just joined us in our new clinic in August 2015! We adopted him from C.A.A.R.E. rescue here in West Fargo. He is a beautiful blue-fronted Amazon parrot. He enjoys ringing his bells and whistling throughout the day. He also has a few favorite phrases - such as "Hi Murdoch", "Happy Bird", "Buh Buh Bye" and "Hello". Listen for him next time you visit! He can be a little shy at first, but he is a very sweet bird!

  • Pearl

    Pearl joined our clinic staff in February 2017. She is an elderly cat that was not claimed when coming through the West Fargo Pound. She was determined to have minor health issues, early kidney disease being the most concerning one. We figured what better place to provide her hospice care than our veterinary clinic! She is doing very well and is one of the most affectionate cats we have had as a clinic cat. She loves being pet and getting brushed - she will even brush herself if you hold the brush still for her!
